DI Ethics and Compliance Training Program

DI Corporate headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia

A company that sets, meets, and believes in the highest standards

A committee of 10 from multiple departments devoted months to developing DI’s expanded and improved corporate ethics program. The program not only meets compliance requirements for a public company and government contractor, it also helps define our corporate culture.

“At least in part, who you work for defines you. You want to work for a company that stands for integrity, you want to know that the people you work with are ethical – that you can trust their judgment,” said Senior Counsel Keith Fischler.

Keith spearheaded this initiative to further develop our corporate ethics program. It includes a revised standards of conduct document called the DI Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, a series of broadcast videos called “Ethical Moments,” and, what will ultimately be a library of online training courses – some of which will be mandatory for all DI employees.

The Code of Ethics and Business Conduct is the cornerstone of the program. The code provides guidance and explains what is expected of those who work for DI. Copies will be provided to all DI employees.

“Ethical Moments” broadcast videos are vignettes that present ethical issues and then show appropriate actions. The first in the series is “Ethical Choices: Thinking Things Through” and is accessible here: http://library.midicorp.com/em/default.aspx?id=198411670733.

Online training will include an interactive course based on the code. Training will be mandatory and every employee must complete the course. Other courses will feature work-related topics such as protecting confidential information and complying with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. The online library of courses will enable employees to improve their knowledge and ensure conformity with laws, regulations, and best practices in a wide variety of compliance areas.

“We’re giving guidance to help people so they know what the expectations and requirements are, and so they’re not left guessing,” Keith said.

The ethics program demonstrates DI’s commitment to continuous improvement. It addresses basic principles that apply across cultures, as well as requirements that our company has to meet in countries where we do business. It communicates that our company can be counted on to do the right thing.

John McMullen Honored by the Army Aviation Association of America

One man’s efforts make a difference for those who’ve served and for their families

Business Director John McMullen received the AAAA’s Society of Saint Michael’s bronze award in March 2008. John waged a determined campaign to see that veterans of the war in El Salvador were officially recognized as wartime combatants and eligible for combat awards.

His effort has resulted in the award of more than 125 Combat Infantryman Badges and Combat Medic Badges, as well as 40 medals for heroism. Numerous members of supporting aviation units and air crews from Panama and Fort Campbell were also awarded the Air Medal for their service in El Salvador.

John believes his association with DynCorp International was partly responsible for his selection.

“DynCorp International has a long tradition of taking care of people — soldiers, sailors, airmen, police. I accept the award on behalf of everyone in the company,” he said.
